Google Business Profile photo — the right size
Drop your logo in — everyimg crops it square to 720 × 720 px, exactly what Google expects. Remember: Google shows it in a circle, so keep the important part centered.
Google expects a square 720 × 720 px image — note that it is cropped to a circle, so the corners are cut off.

The sizes Google actually expects
- Logo / profile photo: 720 × 720 px, square, minimum 250 × 250 px — displayed as a circle.
- Cover photo: 16:9, e.g. 1024 × 576 px — the big image at the top of your profile.
- Regular photos (interior, products, team): 720 × 540 px (4:3) or larger.
- Format: JPG or PNG, maximum 5 MB — and Google actively rejects heavily filtered images.
The circle crop nobody expects
The most common surprise: you upload a perfectly square logo and Google shows it inside a circle — with the corners gone. If your logo touches the edges of the square, letters get clipped. The fix is padding: your logo mark should sit in the middle roughly 70% of the canvas. Process it here, then look at the thumbnail — if the mark is comfortably centered, the circle crop can't hurt it.
Why profile photos matter for local search
Complete profiles with good photos get significantly more clicks and direction requests — Google itself reports that businesses with photos receive more requests than those without. Photos are also a ranking factor for the local pack. Ten minutes with a folder of properly sized photos is one of the cheapest local-SEO wins there is; the batch processing above handles a whole folder at once with ZIP download.
Frequently asked questions
What size should my Google Business Profile logo be?
720 × 720 pixels, square (1:1). The minimum is 250 × 250 px, the file must be JPG or PNG under 5 MB. Note that Google displays the logo inside a circle, so the corners are cut off.
What size is the Google Business Profile cover photo?
16:9 aspect ratio, ideally 1024 × 576 px or larger. The cover photo appears prominently at the top of your profile on Google Maps and Search.
Why did Google reject my photo?
Common reasons: the file is over 5 MB, smaller than 250 × 250 px, heavily filtered or contains too much overlaid text. Google prefers natural, unedited photos in JPG or PNG format.
Why is my logo cut off on Google?
Google crops the square logo to a circle. Anything in the corners disappears. Keep your actual logo mark inside roughly the inner 70% of the square — the preset here shows a centered crop so you can check.
